Greek Oregano Seeds

Item no. 7

Oregano is a sweet-smelling herb with aromatic foliage and is essential to Greek cuisine. In fact, Greek Oregano (Origanum vulgare var. hirtum) has a much stronger flavour than common oregano. It’s a key ingredient in salads, soups, meats, and seafood. Also, oregano is significant in Greek folklore and is believed to have medicinal properties. Traditionally, newlyweds are crowned with oregano wreaths.

You can grow oregano indoors all year round. Sow seeds into trays of compost and lightly cover. Place the tray in a warm and bright position. Germination takes 2 to 3 weeks. When the seedlings are large enough to handle, they can be transplanted into pots.
