Item no. 10

Dried Lavender Flowers

In the late spring, the smell of lavender wafts through the city streets.  Lavender is farmed in the countryside south-west of Budapest and sold in urban markets by the armful. The calming scent can be found as essential oils, soaps, and herbal teas. Márta loved the calming smell of lavender tea as a child.

Make your own lavender bag

1. Take the red fabric circle, elastic band and ribbons out of the pouch. 2. Empty half the pouch of dried lavender into the centre of the fabric. 3. Gather the sides up and fix with the elastic band, pulling the ripples of fabric apart above the band to tighten it. 4. Tie ribbons around the neck of the bag to cover the elastic. 5. Use in drawers to gently scent your clothes, or by your bed for relaxation and sleep.
